It was a proud moment for me to host the Ladies First Event at this year’s Malta Poker Festival in April, and what a phenomenal success it was! With 50 entries, the energy in the room was electric, and the atmosphere was nothing short of celebratory.

Our event was made even more special thanks to the generous hospitality of Portomaso Casino, who provided prosecco and fruit platters for all our players. Their staff truly went above and beyond, making everyone feel welcome and ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

Congratulations to Mary-Rose McCann, who emerged victorious in the Ladies First Event and to second place Sonia Padovani, both claiming their titles with grace and skill. But the celebrations didn’t stop there—women made their presence known throughout the festival!

Susie Williamson proved herself a formidable force, finishing 3rd in the Mystery Bounty and an impressive 16th in the Hendon Mob Championship. Meanwhile, Amber Sullivan also had an incredible run, placing 12th in the Progressive Bounty and securing 3rd place in the Mystery Bounty. These women truly smashed it in Malta and showed the poker world the strength and talent of female players.

I’m incredibly grateful for the unwavering support I receive when hosting events across the poker circuit. It was an honor to be invited by the Malta Poker Festival to lead this fantastic celebration of women in poker.
