Sligo €20k in a Day Wrap
When you walk through the doors of the Adelaide Casino in Sligo, the décor and furnishings create a sense of calm. At the back is the poker area, which has been meticulously designed to offer the perfect setting in which to play poker. Last time out, we had a great turnout on a wet November evening. With the sun yet again back with a vengeance, that has not stopped the poker players flocking in their droves.
First up was the Adelaide €20k in a Day 1A which saw a total of 129 making up the field. In the mix was the Bryant Brothers, Ray and Robbie Bryant, both having picked up trophies at the last IPT event in Dundalk and ready to strike while the iron was hot.
Also pulling up a pew fresh from her birthday celebrations was Tanya Masters. Trying her luck again was runner-up at the last event in Sligo, Laura Sentes, hoping to do one better this time around.
From this field there were 19 players who made it through to the final, with the biggest stacks bagged up by Robert John Crawford who had 380,000. Shane Bunnett managed to pull in 512,000, while the largest stack went to Tadgh Kelly who had 570,000.
Next up was the Hyper 1B, from this flight there were 58 players in the mix. In total 15 players made it through to the final. The biggest stack was bagged by Charlie Porter who had 306,000. The second largest stack brought forward from this flight was with Robbie Bryant who had 230,000.
At 9.30pm sharp players took their seats for the final. From a total of 187 entries, we were left with 33. The great turnout throughout the day saw the guarantee easily surpassed, topping out at €30,515.
When it got down to the final table it was hard not to see a familiar story developing yet again.
Knock? Knock?
Who’s there?
Robbie Bryant…
Yet again, the Tullamore man navigated the entire field to make it into the final three. Control shifted between them, and eventually a deal was discussed and agreed upon. An ICM deal was agreed, with play continuing for the trophy and €900.
In third place was Matthew Blayney who took home €4,600. Battling it out in the heads up was Donegal’s Charlie Porter who had, what seemed like an insurmountable task of stopping Robbie on his way to yet another winner’s photo.
As is so often the case at the IPT, it feels more like a community than a competition. With Robbie’s recent run of form, the crowd, his brother and even himself, were saying they would be delighted to see Charlie take home the trophy.
Charlie is an IPT regular who has had a very good run of form of late (Winner of Northwest Poker Bundoran €15k – One Day, Bundoran – € 3,365, June 2026) and it’s very rare you don’t see him with a smile on his face enjoying every moment with those in the poker world.
Charlie had taken a sip of his beer when he agreed upon the 3-way ICM deal, looking like a man who was happy with his days work. Although he didn’t leave with the trophy, Charlie Porter left in 2nd place with €4,890.
Robbie Bryant has been humble and resilient throughout his recent rise to the top of the Irish Poker Tour leaderboard and adds yet another trophy to the ever-growing collection at the Midlands Card Club, Tullamore.

Once again, through a massive field of competitors, Robbie Bryant comes out victorious.
The trophy cabinet at Tullamore is going to be packed by the end of the year.
It was great to see Robbie talking with the lads at the MCC who had stayed up late to see if he could bag another.

An Ode to the Adelaide
I’m excited to see the progress made by the team at the Adelaide Casino. Back in November, players were given a sneak preview of the dedicated card room after its renovation, and the transformation was immediately impressive. It has quickly become one of the finest settings for live poker in Ireland.
The dimly lit poker room creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere, while carefully positioned lighting keeps the focus exactly where it should be: on the cards and the players.
At the heart of the room, a large jumbotron-style display with high-specification screens keeps both players and staff up to date with tournament information, adding a professional touch to the overall experience.
The redevelopment was spearheaded by Mark Walsh, whose vision extends far beyond the room itself. By leading from the front, he has helped foster a culture centred on hospitality, professionalism and player experience. It is one of the oldest principles of effective leadership, leading by example and it is evident throughout the Adelaide Casino.
Whether you’re a regular, a first-time visitor or simply stopping by for a game, the goal is the same: to ensure everyone enjoys the best experience possible.

Let’s SLI-GO
This weekend the IPT sets up shop in The Adelaide Casino, just seven months after their last guarantee smashing stop there.
Last time around, which was a wet and dreary night in November. The Casino was alive with that unmisstakeable sound of the Irish Poker Tour providing a place to create lasting memories.
At the last event we saw –
Aidan Hynes take €1370 and 1st place in Omaha 7-Max
Killian Farrell added a further €1810 to his live earnings tally whilst securing the Saturday NLH trophy.
And with 182 entries involved the Main Event prize pool rose to €29,700.
Banking €8000 was Gary Slevin who walked away the Sligo €20k In A Day Main Event champion.

The Northern Poker Festival 2026
When the craic is that good it doesn’t feel like work. Thank you to everyone at The Fairways Hotel, in Dundalk, the staff were excellent, breakfast was fresh and had a selection that would have even made Shane Keary smile…Although he unfortunately couldn’t make it as he is in Las Vegas trying out for the blue man group.

Northern Poker Festival Final Day Wrap
All good things must come to an end, but great things live on in memories for years to come. The Northern Poker Festival definitely falls into the latter category. Helped by the glorious weather, players arrived with a spring in their step and a smile on their faces. Let’s have a look at the final day’s action…
Kicking off the day was the Northern Poker Festival Main Event Day 1E Hyper giving players one last chance to qualify for the final. In total a further 42 entries joined the fray, bringing the Main Event prize pool to €91,105. Another 20 players added their name to the roster. Bagging the biggest stack was Marius Tersanszki, 395,000.
The stage was set and the hopeful contenders made their way to the poker room floor. From 365 total entries we were left with 62 players of which 37 would be paid. As the day progressed players began to fall by the wayside and that all too bittersweet moment was upon us. The unfortunate bubble boy was Daragh Leslie. The rest of the field breathed a sigh of relief and play continued.
Next up was the Monsterstack 1A, a personal and player favourite. More chips in play which usually translates to more action at the table. There were 90 players that made up the field bringing the prize pool to €14,688. From this flight, 22 players made it through, with the biggest stack going to Geoffrey McClay, who bagged 906,000.
Later on in the day there was the Monsterstack Hyper flight which had 42 entries, bringing the total prize pool for this event to €21,545. From the Hyper, 20 players made it through with the biggest stack bagged by Marius Tersanszki – 395,000.
The Omaha 4/5 Cards had 25 entries which created a prize pool of €3,000. With one eye on the Main Event players fought it out to secure the trophy. One man who seems to be unstoppable this year decided to have his first go at a live Omaha event. Robbie Bryant was able to transfer his holdem skills to this format and took home his second trophy of the festival and banked €1,500. In third place was Jaunius Kavalciukas – €600 and in second was Robert Monaghan – €900.
Later in the evening the Monsterstack Final got underway, 42 players took their seats and the battle began. Eventually we were left with a final table, spurred on by his brother’s success in the Omaha, Ray Bryant was amongst those vying for the top spot. The fairytale run continued and after a 3-way deal Ray Bryant took down yet another Monsterstack and €3,649. In second was another MCC regular Frederico Hitner who banked €3,148 and in third place was Richard Neville – €3,148. Three trophies heading back to the Midland’s Card Club in Tullamore.
Back to the Main Event, which saw a great comeback from Paul Carr who was holding on for dear life at the bubble with around 60k and managed to build up his stack to 700k, alas it was not meant to be for Paul who exited the tournament in 11th place with €1,400. When the Main Event got down to a final table the remaining 9 fought it out for some time. Then players began to exit the competition, when it got down to 5 players a deal was agreed upon which meant, Bogdan Chetrariu finished fifth for €7,276, Northern Ireland’s all-time leading live tournament money winner Paul Leckey took fourth for €11,105, Mahmood Rasheed finished third for €11,195, Eugene O’Kane claimed second for €12,504.
Taking home the trophy was the big-bearded Brazilian Helio Netto, who collected €15,175. Helio is also having a great year and recently finished 2nd in the Main Event at The Monster event held at The Green Isle Hotel in Dublin.
