Aspden Doubles via Baxter

Summer in Dublin 1B
Level: 4 | Blinds: 200/400 | BB Ante: 400
Ave. Stack: 43,789 - Prizepool: €100,000 - Field: 95/104

Alan Campbell limped from middle position and Elliot Aspden followed suit on the button. Joel Baxter pumped it up to 2,000 from the small blind, and both of his opponents called.

Baxter continued with a bet of 2,500 on the 997 flop, which only Aspden called.

On the 3 turn, Baxter fired out a bet of 6,400 and Aspden jammed for not much more, totalling 10,800. Baxter made the call.

Aspden showed 55 for two pair nines and fives, while Baxter had KQ, needing to spike the river to make a higher two pair. The 2 river was a brick and Aspden secured the double-up.

As he was raking in the pot, Baxter asked if it “was a jam for value” and Aspden nodded.

Ward Gets Busy

Paddy Power Mystery Bounty
Level: 2 | Blinds: 100/200 | BB Ante: 200
Ave. Stack: 40,519 - Prizepool: €100,000 - Field: 82/83

Andrew Carney opened to 500 from early position and was met with a three-bet to 1,300 by Michael Harland in middle position. Charles Ward cold-called in the next seat, and Carney made it three-way to the flop.

On the 254 flop Carney checked and Harland fired out a bet of 1,800. Ward quickly raised to 5,000, which caused Carney to dispose of his cards quickly.

Harland took a bit of time to think it through, but mucked his hand, sending a decent early pot to Ward.

Crampton Busts Nolan

Summer in Dublin 1A
Level: 15 | Blinds: 3000/6000 | BB Ante: 6000
Ave. Stack: 289,523 - Prizepool: €100,000 - Field: 21/152

Paul Carr raised to 12,000 under the gun and was faced with a three-bet to 75,000 by Anthony Crampton in middle position. Action folded to Karl Nolan in the small blind, who moved all in for 72,000, with Carr getting out of the way.

Karl Nolan: 99

Anthony Crampton: AA

Nolan had run his pocket nines straight into Crampton’s rockets, and the QJ3Q3 runout did not provide him with an unlikely escape.

Rodrigo Diaz Wins Mystery Bounty (€11,360 incl bounties); Conal Prendergast Runner-Up (€3,320 incl bounties)

Paddy Power Mystery Bounty
Level: 18 | Blinds: 10K-20K | BB Ante: 20000
Ave. Stack: 3,330,000 - Prizepool: €23,566 - Field: 1/111

After a lengthy heads-up battle lasting almost two hours, Rodrigo Diaz of Bolivia has emerged victorious.

In the final hand, Diaz limp-jammed pocket threes and was looked up by Conal Prendergast with ace-jack.

Prendergast was behind in a race, and although the 1097 flop and K turn gave him plenty of additional outs to his overcards, the river brought the 3 to give Diaz a set of threes and the title.

Diaz takes home the trophy along with €11,360, while Prendergast walks away with €3,320, both inclusive of bounties.

Congratulations to Rodrigo on a fantastic victory, and to Conal for putting up a valiant fight heads-up, after starting with a significant deficit.
